Advanced CSV imports, bulk updates, and recovery
Bulk update with a CSV
- Export the list and all fields under Audience → List → Export. Keep the original as a backup.
- Edit the intended column, such as setting frequency to weekly, and keep the email key intact.
- Test on a small non-critical list and re-import using Update for duplicates if available.
Automate a recurring CRM sync
Export a consistent CSV, validate required columns and field types, and deduplicate by email before uploading. Decide which record should win based on source timestamps. Preserve unsubscribe and suppression status. Record job IDs and results, and reconcile failed rows before retrying.
The draft describes bulk-update and import API routes, batch resume, and per-row audit responses. Confirm those capabilities against your SynerMail deployment before building an integration. See the REST API guide.
Work with custom fields
Check whether the import wizard can create a missing field or create it on the list first. Pick the intended type, such as Number, Text, or Date, then map the CSV column. For a text-to-date migration, normalize dates in a sample export and check the import before changing the full list.
Recover from a bad import
Inspect the job summary or audit log if available. Use the original export to restore affected fields with a corrected import. Check added, updated, skipped, and failed counts before proceeding.
Keep an audit record
Record the operator, timestamp, source file, field mapping, and import result. Keep the original consent source and timestamp separately. An import event records when data entered the system.
